Sendayan laying the formwork
Confirmation of a bright economic future for Seremban came last week in the form of South Korean aluminium manufacturer, S-Form Group, confirming their first overseas fabrication facility which will be built in Sendayan Tech Valley, Seremban.
The company hopes to use its position here in Negeri Sembilan to engage closer with the Asian region, having already received one major order from Indonesia, and will begin exporting by the first quarter of 2018.
The company builds aluminium formwork which is used in construction to create support structures and moulds into which concrete is poured. It is considered better than timber as aluminium formwork can be reused at least 100 times.
Malaysia's International Trade and Industry Minister II Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan attended the launch along with S-Form Group chairman Kim Joon-yoon with senior executives from both South Korea and Malaysia present.
Sendayan TechValley, 15 minutes from Seremban, is a modern technology park and focuses on sustainability, renewable resources, new technologies, advanced communication services and facilities.
Developed in synergy with the Negeri Sembilan government to attract foreign direct investment as well as assist with the expansion of domestic direct investment, Sendayan TechValley is poised to be a major economic zone with innovation driving it forward.
Also last week Solar Management (Seremban) Sdn Bhd secured RM247mil from Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) to help finance their first large-scale solar farm project in Malaysia.
Director Tee Cheng said the 200 acre project would be located in Rembau, Negri Sembilan and is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
MBSB president and chief executive Datuk Seri Ahmad Zaini Othman said this is the first solar power project they will finance and it is set to become one of the largest solar projects in Malaysia and "we are honoured to be part of it.”
It is yet another major investment by an Asian company in the area and follows on from last years collaboration of Shanghai Zhangjiang Specialist College from China with Matrix Global Schools (MGS) whereby MGS provide an 18-month preparatory programme for students aged 15-17 years old , specialising in English, Science and Mathematics.
