Royal Enfield riders cave expedition

Check out the video of the Royal Enfield Riders group ride to Gua Pasoh at Felda Pasoh 4 earlier this week on their FB page called One-Day Ride

It was a new experience for the group to ride on a curvy road and then go off-road to view Gua Pelangi which is a cave under excavation by archaeologists who have dated remains found there to be more than 14,000 years old.

They were guided in by ATOA Adventures, run by local guide Norazliny, takes vistors into the cave area and offers other activities in and around the area.

Royal Enfield (RE) bikes are Indian made motorcycles and RE is considered one of the first motorcycles in the world and has been manufactured since 1901.

It was called British motorcyles, then India bought the company after recognizing that this this bike could run at the giddying heights of the Himalaya without any major issues, ie engine shutdown - so it's considered an off-road bike also.

Members of RE club, officially 8years old, rode from The Big Bike shop in Puchong to the lovely Tebat Sanctuary, a homestay / accommodation in Kuala Pilah for some food and refreshments before heading to the Felda Pasoh 4 community.

They then went off-road through the palm oil plantation to tour Gua Pelangi and take a look at the other caves in the area before a BBQ lunch and a return drive home.

RE has about 100 members with more than 50 taking an active part on the rides which include many charity runs for various charity organisations, to ensure the exercise is meaningful.

Spokes person Mohd Halim Salamon said "everyone felt peaceful and relaxed having lunch in the jungle and felt it was just the experience they were looking for."

"The members enjoyed the caves, the ride there, and the BBQ mutton was delicious," he said.

In April every year the club hosts the Malaysian part of a worldwide event called ONE RIDE and members are using the weekends and holidays to get everything in tune for this big event.
