It was a storm like no other.
It came in hard and fast and departed just as quickly as it came, leaving behind a trail of damage for householders and businesses to deal with.
Kindly, the state government, under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, stepped in to offer immediate assistance and aid to those affected.
The thunderstorms hit Ampangan, Sikamat and Paroi areas on Friday afternoon, snapping trees and branches, blowing off roofs and causing trees to be uprooted and hawker stalls to be blown away by the strong winds.
Traffic was bought to a standstill as emergency workers attempted to get to the areas and clean up the mess.
“Several constructors have been appointed to complete the repair works,” Datuk Hasan said after visiting the affected areas in Ampangan this afternoon and said that the state government would provide other assistance if needed.
