The Jigger & Shaker at night
Anything that can save you time is a good thing, right? – more time means more fun.
And that’s what Jigger & Shaker offers those who regularly hit the road to KL, places like Jalan Pinang, Changkat Bkt Btg, or Bangsar to dine, have a drink or two, and have a fun night out.
“There’s no point driving all the way up there when there are better options right here, just 15 minutes from Seremban CBD,” said Jigger & Shaker operations manager Tan U Keong who has bought a bit of KL to Seremban.
Tan believes that the creation of Jigger & Shaker will offer people from all walks of life a great foodie experience, and helping him achieve that goal is Egyptian chef, Ossama Abu Shala, aka Chef Sam.
Chef Sam has been interested in cooking since he was a young lad at school and his passion for Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, entwined with an understanding of the Asian palette, ensures your taste buds will be sated with lots of flair and flavour.
“I’ve been living in Malaysia for 5 years now with my wife who is local, and our family lives in Bandar Sri Sendayan now, after working overseas in Dubai, then in Penang and KL,” he said.
“We’ve changed the whole menu, 100%, everything we create here is original and we emphasise that every sauce we make for the food and every dressing we make for the salads are truly original too,” he said.
Tan adds that the menu is designed for a healthier lifestyle, saying, “We are using our own home grown herbs as much as we can, growing them at home and also using them in herbal teas.”
It is also a menu that is designed for both young and old with choices galore, such as this coconut milkshake below.
Jigger & Shaker have also created a whole new cocktail and mocktail (non- alcoholic) menu, which is also completely original.
The Love Story
You can try a Secret Moment, Dark Glass, White trumpet or perhaps a Love Story (above) or Hero Martini. (shaken not stirred!) But be careful, the Martini has a caffeine and Tongkat Ali added punch to it. If you prefer non-alcoholic drinks then you must try out the Assam Boi soda, it is very refreshing or try any of the milkshakes on offer.
With new cutlery, plates, “classier” glass wear and a soulful three-piece band playing hits of today, and some from yesterday, Jigger & Shaker has a relaxed ambience and a Sunday afternoon feel to it’s vibe. One that says, all is well with the world, so eat, drink and be merry.
Jigger & Shaker was officially opened to the public by the founder and Group Managing Director of Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, YBhg Dato’ Lee Tian Hock on Saturday night. A lion dance troupe, firecrackers and balloons preceded the sumptuous buffet provided for invited guests, staff and families.
Three piece band The Art Trio
As well as offering acoustic live entertainment for diners, Jigger & Shaker have also focused on “ Discovering talents” through an open stage concept for young and undeveloped talents to try out their performing arts abilities, nightly from 8PM -10PM. You can sing, dance, play a musical instrument, perform solo or in a band or perhaps stand up comedy is your forte! (Apply online via FB page mentioned in picture below.)
