Malaysia Rugby (MR) have decided to postpone two domestic competitions scheduled for this year following the worsening COVID-19 situation and implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
MR competitions director Fahmy Jalil said the National 7s, scheduled to be held from July 31-Aug 1, and Agong’s Cup, set to begin on Aug 14, had to be postponed until the situation improved.
He explained that the decision was made during the executive council meeting held virtually this evening by taking into account the MCO and SOP, which will be tightened from Tuesday.
“Information on the new dates for the tournaments will be announced later,” he said in a statement.
MR last held a domestic tournament back in November 2019, when Terengganu defeated defending champions Sabah in the Agong’s Cup final.
