Getting to Seremban

Seremban is not the most popular destination for tourists visiting Malaysia, in fact it probably doesn’t make the list of Top 10 places to visit in Malaysia, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing to see or do there.

Negeri Sembilan has a goldmine of activities, attractions and an interesting history for overseas visitors coming to Malaysia as well as being a great spot for local Malaysians to visit too.

In fact, Negeri Sembilan has many attractions to please both the adventure tourist and the less active visitor that most travellers would probably extend their visit or make a return soon after.

Negeri Sembilan and Seremban offers tourists a mixture of outdoor activities from the mountains to the sea.

The population of Negeri Sembilan has a diverse cultural mix of Minangkabau, Malay, Portuguese, Indian and Chinese people, who all made Malaysia their home over centuries past.

Seremban is only a one hour drive from Kuala Lumpur and it offers visitors a great microcosm view of what the rest of Malaysia can offer, without having to travel too far.

The easiest way to get to Seremban from Kuala Lumpur is by hiring a car and drive directly there but if you want to relax and look around you can hire a Grab taxi or the like.

You can also catch a train from KL Central railway station which will set you back less than RM10 or hop on a bus which leaves from Pasar Seni in KL which is about the same cost.

If you do take the train you’ll reach the 1924 year-old Seremban station which has a lovely clock tower with an Islamic style cupola atop. The journey takes about an hour and a bit later depending on traffic.

The bus may take a bit longer (traffic jams!) and it will drop you off at Terminal 1, next to a shopping centre in the middle of Seremban CBD.
