TOKYO: Top-ranked shooter Amber Hill has tested positive for Covid-19 back home in Britain and will not be participating in the Tokyo Olympics – Amber reached the semifinals in the skeet at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
The event was scheduled for Sunday and Monday and no shooter will take Britain’s entry as her replacement. Her case is asymptomatic and she will isolate herself as per the government guidance.
The Tokyo Olympics which will be taking place under heavy restrictions after a year of delay due to the coronavirus pandemic is facing more obstacles nearing its opening ceremony.
